All information is exact quotes (except when in [brackets]) of the breed standards. The AKC breed standard is used for all AKC breeds (including miscellaneous class). If the breed is not AKC registered, the UKC standard is used. Otherwise the first available standard is used. To find out more go to the AKC's site or the rare breed network.

Breed Weight Height Acceptable Colors
Affenpinscher The height at the withers is between 9" and 11-1/2", with 10-1/4" being the ideal. ---- Black, grey, silver, or black and tan, with symmetrical markings, or red, varying from a brownish red to an orangey tan.
Afghan Hounds Dogs, 27 inches, plus or minus one inch; bitches, 25 inches, plus or minus one inch. dogs, about 60 pounds; bitches, about 50 pounds. All colors are permissible
Airedale Terrier Dogs should measure approximately 23 inches in height at the shoulder; bitches, slightly less.   The head and ears should be tan, the ears being of a darker shade than the rest.
Akbash Dog Desirable height at maturity, measured at the withers, ranges from 30 to 34 inches for males and 28 to 32 inches for females. The average weight for a male Akbash Dog in good condition is 120 pounds; for a female, 90 pounds. The Akbash Dog is always white.
Akita Males 26 to 28 inches at the withers; bitches 24 to 26 inches. ---- Any color including white; brindle; or pinto.
Alaskan Husky      
Alaskan Klee Kai Toy Variety: Up to and including 13 inches.
Miniature Variety: Over 13 inches and up to and including 15 inches.
Standard Variety: Over 15 inches up to and including 17 inches.		 ---- All coat colors are acceptable provided that the facial mask is distinct and clearly visible
Alaskan Malamutes The desirable freighting sizes are males, 25 inches at the shoulders, females, 23 inches at the shoulders, The desirable freighting sizes are males, 85 pounds; females, 75 pounds. The usual colors range from light gray through intermediate shadings to black, sable, and shadings of sable to red. The only solid color allowable is all white.
American Bulldog Desirable height in a mature male ranges from 22 to 27 inches; in a mature female, from 20 to 25 inches. Desirable weight in a mature male ranges from 75 to 125 pounds; in a mature female, from 60 to 100 pounds. Any color, color pattern, or combination of colors is acceptable, except for solid black, solid blue, and tricolor (white with patches of black and tan). Some dark brindle coats may appear black unless examined in very bright light. A buckskin color pattern, where the base of the hair is fawn and the tips are black, may also appear solid black. A judge should not disqualify an American Bulldog for black color unless the dog has been examined in sunlight or other equally bright light.
American Eskimo Dog There are three separate size divisions of the American Eskimo Dog (all measurements are heights at withers): Toy, 9 inches to and including 12 inches; Miniature, over 12 inches to and including 15 inches; and Standard, over 15 inches to and including 19 inches. ---- Pure white is the preferred color, although white with biscuit cream is permissible.
American Foxhound Dogs should not be under 22 or over 25 inches. Bitches should not be under 21 or over 24 inches ---- Any color
American Pit Bull Terrier ---- Not important. Females preferred from thirty to fifty pounds.
Males from thirty-five to sixty pounds. 		Any color or marking permissible.
American Staffordshire Terrier A height of about 18 to 19 inches at shoulders for the male and 17 to 18 inches for the female is to be considered preferable. ---- Any color, solid, parti, or patched is permissible, but all white, more than 80 per cent white, black and tan, and liver not to be encouraged.
American Water Spaniel 15 to 18 inches for either sex. Males weighing 30-45 lbs. Females weighing 25-40 lbs. Color either solid liver, brown or dark chocolate. A little white on toes and chest permissible.
Anatolian Shepherd Dogs should be from 29 inches proportionate to size and structure. Bitches should be from 27 inches, weighing from 80 to 120 pounds Dogs should be weighing from 110 to 150 pounds proportionate to size and structure. Bitches should be weighing from 80 to 120 pounds All color patterns and markings are equally acceptable.

Australian Kelpie Measured at the withers, males shall measure 20 to 23 inches in height; females shall measure 17 to 20 inches in height. ---- Black with or without tan markings; blue (gray) ranging from dark to light, with or without tan markings; red ranging from chocolate to light red, with or without tan markings; tan ranging from dark to cream.
Australian Shepherd The preferred height for males is 20-23 inches, females 18-21 inches. ---- Blue merle, black, red merle, red-all with or without white markings and/or tan (copper) points, with no order of preference.
Australian Terrier Height 10-11 inches at the withers. ---- Blue and tan, solid sandy and solid red.
Azawakh      
Basenji Ideal height for dogs is 17 inches and bitches 16 inches. Approximate weight for dogs, 24 pounds and bitches, 22 pounds. Chestnut red; pure black; tricolor (pure black and chestnut red); or brindle (black stripes on a background of chestnut red); all with white feet, chest and tail tip. White legs, blaze and collar optional.
Basset Hound The height should not exceed 14 inches. ---- Any recognized hound color is acceptable and the distribution of color and markings is of no importance.
Beagle There shall be two varieties: Thirteen Inch-which shall be for hounds not exceeding 13 inches in height. Fifteen Inch-which shall be for hounds over 13 but not exceeding 15 inches in height. ---- Any true hound color.
Bearded Collie The ideal height at the withers is 21-22 inches for adult dogs and 20-21 inches for adult bitches. ---- black, blue, brown or fawn, with or without white markings.
Beauceron Males: height ranges from 25-1/2 inches (65 cm) to 27-1/2 inches (70 cm).
Females: height ranges from 24 inches (61 cm) to 26-3/4 inches (68 cm).		 ---- The acceptable colors are Black and Rust (Bas Rouge) (bicolor) and Harlequin (tricolor).
Bedlington Terrier The preferred Bedlington Terrier dog measures 16-1/2 inches at the withers, the bitch 15-1/2 inches. To be proportionate to height within the range of 17 to 23 pounds. Blue, sandy, liver, blue and tan, sandy and tan, liver and tan.
Belgian Laekenois The desirable size for males is 23" - 26 1/2"
The desirable size for females is 21" - 24 1/2"		 ---- Fawn and Sable (all the gamut of colors through beige to gray), with charcoaling.
Belgian Malinois Males are 24 to 26 inches in height; females are 22 to 24 inches ---- The basic coloring is a rich fawn to mahogany, with black tips on the hairs giving an overlay appearance.
Belgian Sheepdog (Groenedael) Males should be 24-26 inches in height and females 22-24 inches, measured at the withers. ---- Black
Belgian Tervuren The ideal male is 24 to 26 inches in height and female 22 to 24 inches in height measured at the withers. ---- Body rich fawn to russet mahogany with black overlay.
Bernese Mountain Dog Measured at the withers, dogs are 25 to 271/2 inches; bitches are 23 to 26 inches. ---- The Bernese Mountain Dog is tri-colored.
Bichon Frise Dogs and bitches 9-1/2 to 11-1/2 inches are to be given primary preference. ---- Color is white, may have shadings of buff, cream or apricot around the ears or on the body.
Black & Tan Coonhound Males 25 to 27 inches; females 23 to 25 inches. ---- As the name implies, the color is coal black with rich tan markings above eyes, on sides of muzzle, chest, legs and breeching, with black pencil markings on toes
Black Russian Terrier The height range for males is from 26 to 28-1/2 inches (66 to 72 cm). The height range for females is from 25 to 27-1/2 inches (64 to 70 cm). ---- Acceptable colors include: black; and ashen, which is black ground hairs with random white or gray hairs, giving an ashen appearance.
Bloodhound The mean average height of adult dogs is 26 inches, and of adult bitches 24 inches. The mean average weight of adult dogs, in fair condition, is 90 pounds, and of adult bitches 80 pounds. The colors are black and tan, liver and tan, and red
Blue Tick Coonhound Adult males: 22" to 27" at shoulder; Females: 21" to 25" at shoulder; Adult males: 55 to 80 pounds. Females: 45 to 65 pounds. Preferred color of the Bluetick is a dark blue, thickly mottled body, spotted by various shaped black spots
Border Collie The height at the withers varies from 19" to 22" for males, 18" to 21" for females. ---- The Border Collie appears in many colors, with various combinations of patterns and markings. The most common color is black with or without the traditional white blaze, collar, stockings and tail tip, with or without tan points. However, a variety of primary body colors is permissible. The sole exception being all white. Solid color, bi-color, tri-color, merle and sable dogs are judged equally with dogs having traditional markings.
Border Terrier ---- Dogs, 13-151/2 pounds, bitches, 111/2-14 pounds Red, grizzle and tan, blue and tan, or wheaten.
Borzoi Mature males should be at least 28 inches at the withers and mature bitches at least 26 inches at the withers. Range in weight for males from 75 to 105 pounds and for bitches from 15 to 20 pounds less. Any color, or combination of colors, is acceptable.
Boston Terrier ---- Weight is divided by classes as follows: Under 15 pounds; 15 pounds and under 20 pounds; 20 pounds and not to exceed 25 pounds. Brindle, seal, or black with white markings. (Note: SEAL DEFINED. Seal appears black except it has a red cast when viewed in the sun or bright light.)
Bouvier des Flandres Dogs, from 24 1/2 to 27 1/2 inches; bitches, from 23 1/2 to 26 1/2 inches. ---- From fawn to black, passing through salt and pepper, gray and brindle.
Boxer Adult males 22-1/2 to 25 inches; females 21 to 23-1/2 inches at the withers ---- The colors are fawn and brindle. Fawn shades vary from light tan to mahogany. The brindle ranges from sparse, but clearly defined black stripes on a fawn background, to such a heavy concentration of black striping that the essential fawn background color barely, although clearly, shows through (which may create the appearance of "reverse brindling").
Briard males 23 to 27 inches at the withers; bitches 22 to 25 1/2 inches at the withers. ---- All uniform colors are permitted except white. The colors are black, various shades of gray and various shades of tawny.
Brittany 17-1/2 to 20-1/2 inches Should weigh between 30 and 40 pounds Orange and white or liver and white. Tri-colors are allowed but not preferred.
Brussels Griffon ---- Weight usually 8 to 10 pounds, and should not exceed 12 pounds. Either 1) Red: reddish brown with a little black at the whiskers and chin allowable; 2) Belge: black and reddish brown mixed, usually with black mask and whiskers; 3) Black and Tan: black with uniform reddish brown markings, appearing under the chin, on the legs, above each eye, around the edges of the ears and around the vent; or 4) Black: solid black.
Bull Terriers, Miniature Height 10 inches to 14 inches.   For white, pure white coat. Markings on head and skin pigmentation are not to be penalized. For colored, any color to predominate.
Bull Terriers, Standard ---- ---- White Variety: Is white though markings on the head are permissible. Colored Variety: Any color other than white, or any color with white markings. Other things being equal, the preferred color is brindle.
Bulldog ---- The size for mature dogs is about 50 pounds; for mature bitches about 40 pounds. The color of coat should be uniform, pure of its kind and brilliant. The various colors found in the breed are to be preferred in the following order: (1) red brindle, (2) all other brindles, (3) solid white, (4) solid red, fawn or fallow, (5) piebald, (6) inferior qualities of all the foregoing.
Bullmastiff Dogs, 25 to 27 inches at the withers. Bitches, 24 to 26 inches at the withers. Dogs, 110 to 130 pounds weight. Bitches, 100 to 120 pounds weight. Red, fawn, or brindle.
Cairn Terrier Height at the withers-bitches, 9-1/2 inches; dogs, 10 inches. Weight for bitches, 13 pounds; for dogs, 14 pounds. May be of any color except white.
Canaan Dog Height at the withers is 20 to 24 inches for dogs and 19 to 23 inches for bitches. Dogs generally weigh 45 to 55 pounds and bitches approximately 35 to 45 pounds. There are two color patterns. Pattern 1) Predominantly white with mask and with or without additional patches of color (large body patches are desirable). Pattern 2) Solid colored with or without white trim. Color may range from black through all shades of brown - sandy to red or liver. Shadings of black on a solid brown or tan dog are frequently seen.
Cardigan Welsh Corgi Dogs and bitches should be from 10.5 to 12.5 inches at the withers when standing naturally. Ideally, dogs should be from 30 to 38 pounds; bitches from 25 to 34 pounds. All shades of red, sable and brindle. Black with or without tan or brindle points. Blue merle (black and gray; marbled) with or without tan or brindle points.
Catahoula Leopard Dog      
Caucasian Ovcharka (Mountain Dog) Minimum height at maturity, measured at the withers, is 25 1/2 inches or over for males and 24 1/2 inches or over for females. Dogs over 27 1/4 inches and bitches over 25 1/2 inches are preferred. Weight should be in proportion to the height, giving a balanced, imposing appearance. The following are acceptable colors and markings:
Agouti gray-dark, light, silver, reddish, or yellowish-with or without white markings;
White, cream, fawn or reddish fawn, tan or reddish tan, fulvous, with or without white markings; Brindle;
Piebald; or,
White with gray patches.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Height 12 to 13 inches at the withers; weight proportionate to height, between 13 and 18 pounds Blenheim - Rich chestnut markings well broken up on a clear, pearly white ground. Tricolor - Jet black markings well broken up on a clear, pearly white ground. Ruby - Whole-colored rich red. Black and Tan - Jet black with rich, bright tan markings
Cesky Terrier Height, measured at the withers, ranges from 10-1/2 to 13-3/4 inches (27 to 35 cm). Preferred height: males, 11.8 inches (30 cm); bitches, 11 inches (28 cm). Weight ranges from thirteen (13) to twenty (20) pounds (6 to 9 kg). Preferred weight: males, 18 pounds (8 kg); bitches, 15.5 pounds (7 kg). Cesky Terriers come in two basic colors - blue-gray and light coffee-brown. Blue-gray dogs are born black. Light coffee-brown dogs are born chocolate. In all dogs, the basic color must predominate. Yellow, gray and white markings are permissible in both colors.
Chesapeake Bay Retriever Males should measure 23 to 26 inches; females should measure 21 to 24 inches. Males should weigh 65 to 80 pounds; females should weigh 55 to 70 pounds. Any color of brown, sedge or deadgrass is acceptable, self-colored Chesapeakes being preferred. One color is not to be preferred over another.
Chihuahua ---- A well balanced little dog not to exceed 6 pounds. Any color-Solid, marked or splashed.
Chinese Crested Ideally 11 to 13 inches. ---- Any color or combination of colors.
Chinese Shar-Pei The height is 18 to 20 inches at the withers. The weight is 45 to 60 pounds. Only solid colors and sable are acceptable and are to be judged on an equal basis.
Chinook Height for mature males ranges between 23 and 27 inches at the withers. Height for mature females ranges between 21 and 25 inches. males with an average weight of 70 pounds. females with an average weight of 55 pounds. The Chinook is tawny in color.
Chow Chow The average height of adult specimens is 17 to 20 inches at the withers ---- Clear colored, solid or solid with lighter shadings in the ruff, tail and featherings. There are five colors in the Chow: red (light golden to deep mahogany), black, blue, cinnamon (light fawn to deep cinnamon) and cream.
Clumber Spaniel Males are about 19 to 20 inches at the withers, bitches are about 17 to 19 inches at the withers. Males weigh between 70 and 85 pounds, bitches between 55 and 70 pounds. The Clumber is primarily a white dog with lemon or orange markings.
Cocker Spaniel The ideal height at the withers for an adult dog is 15 inches and for an adult bitch, 14 inches. Height may vary one-half inch above or below this ideal. --- Basically, these varieties: Solid Black; ASCOB (any solid color other than black- can be "ranging from lightest cream to darkest red, including brown and brown with tan points. "); Parti-Color (Two or more solid, well broken colors, one of which must be white; black and white, red and white (the red may range from lightest cream to darkest red), brown and white, and roans, to include any such color combination with tan points. )
Collie Dogs are from 24 to 26 inches at the shoulder. Bitches are from 22 to 24 inches at the shoulder Dogs weigh from 60 to 75 pounds. Bitches weighing from 50 to 65 pounds The four recognized colors are "Sable and White," "Tri-color," "Blue Merle" and "White." There is no preference among them. The "White"is predominantly white, preferably with sable, tri-color or blue merle markings.
Coton de Tulear Height range for males is from 9-7/8 inches (25 cm) to 12-1/2 inches (32 cm), with 11 inches (28 cm) being the ideal. Height range for females is from 8-1/2 inches (21.5 cm) to 11 inches (28 cm), with 9 7/8 inches (25 cm) being the ideal. Weight range for males is from 8-7/8 to 13-1/4 pounds (4 to 6 kg).

Weight range for females is from 7-3/4 to 1 pounds (3.5 to 5 kg).

 White, with a few spots of yellow or light-to-medium gray permissible
Curly Coated Retriever Ideal height at withers: dogs, 25 to 27 inches; bitches, 23 to 25 inches ---- Black or liver.
Dachshund ---- Bred and shown in two sizes, standard and miniature, miniatures are not a separate classification but compete in a class division for 11 pounds and under at 12 months of age and older." Weight of the standard size is usually between 16 and 32 pounds. Smooth- Although base color is immaterial, certain patterns and basic colors predominate. One-colored Dachshunds include red and cream. Two-colored Dachshunds include black, chocolate, wild boar, gray (blue) and fawn (Isabella), each with tan markings Dappled Dachshunds-The "single" dapple pattern is expressed as lighter-colored areas contrasting with the darker base color, which may be any acceptable color. Brindle is a pattern (as opposed to a color) in which black or dark stripes occur over the entire body although in some specimens the pattern may be visible only in the tan points. Wirehaired- While the most common colors are wild boar, black and tan, and various shades of red, all colors are admissible. Longhaired- Same

as for the smooth Dachshund.
Dalmatian Desirable height at the withers is between 19 and 23 inches. ---- The ground color is pure white. In black-spotted dogs the spots are dense black. In liver-spotted dogs the spots are liver brown.
Dandie Dinmont Terrier Height is from 8 to 11 inches at the top of the shoulders. For a dog in good working condition, the preferred weight is from 18 to 24 pounds. The color is pepper or mustard.
Doberman Pinscher Dogs -26 to 28 inches, ideal about 271/2 inches; Bitches- 24 to 26 inches, ideal about 251/2 inches. ---- Black, red, blue, and fawn (Isabella).
Dogue de Bordeaux Desirable height at maturity, measured at the withers, ranges from 23 1/2 to 26 1/2 inches for males and 22 1/2 to 25 1/2 inches for females. Dogs in good condition should weight at least 110 pounds and bitches at least 99. Solid color in any shade of fawn, ranging from mahogany to isabella
English Cocker Spaniel Height at withers: males 16 to 17 inches; females 15 to 16 inches. The most desirable weights: males, 28 to 34 pounds; females, 26 to 32 pounds. Various. Parti-colors are either clearly marked, ticked or roaned, the white appearing in combination with black, liver or shades of red. Solid colors are black, liver or shades of red.
English Foxhound ---- ---- Not regarded as very important, so long as [it] is a good "hound color." Hound colors are black, tan, and white, or any combination of these three, also the various "pies" compounded of white and the color of the hare and badger, or yellow, or tan.
English Setters Dogs about 25 inches; bitches about 24 inches. ---- orange belton, blue belton (white with black markings), tricolor (blue belton with tan on muzzle, over the eyes and on the legs), lemon belton, liver belton.
English Springer Spaniel Ideal height at the shoulder for dogs is 20 inches; for bitches, it is 19 inches. A 20 inch dog, well-proportioned and in good condition, will weigh approximately 50 pounds; a 19 inch bitch will weigh approximately 40 pounds. (1) Black or liver with white markings or predominantly white with black or liver markings; (2) Blue or liver roan; (3) Tricolor: black and white or liver and white with tan markings
English Toy Spaniel ---- The most desirable weight of an adult is eight to fourteen pounds. The Blenheim (red and white) consists of a pearly white ground with deep red or chestnut markings evenly distributed in large patches. The Prince Charles (tricolor) consists of a pearly white ground, with evenly distributed black patches, solid black ears and black face markings. The King Charles (black and tan) is a rich, glossy black with bright mahogany tan markings appearing on the cheeks, lining of the ears, over the eyes, on the legs and underneath the tail. The Ruby is a self-colored, rich mahogany red.
Entlebucher Sennehund Height, measured at the withers, ranges from 16 to 20 inches. Weight ranges from 55 to 65 pounds. The Entlebucher is tri-colored, with a jet black ground color and rich rust and clear white markings.
Field Spaniel Ideal height for mature adults at the withers is 18 inches for dogs and 17 inches for bitches. ---- Black, liver, golden liver or shades thereof, in any intensity (dark or light); either self-colored or bi-colored. Bi-colored dogs must be roaned and/or ticked in white areas.
Fila Brasileiro      
Finnish Spitz Height at the withers in dogs: 171/2 to 20 inches; in bitches, 151/2 to 18 inches. ---- Varying shades of golden-red ranging from pale honey to deep auburn are allowed
Flat-Coated Retriever Preferred height is 23 to 241/2; inches at the withers for dogs, 22 to 231/2 inches for bitches. ---- Solid black or solid liver.
French Bulldog ---- not to exceed 28 pounds Acceptable colors - All brindle, fawn, white, brindle and white, and any color except those which constitute disqualification. All colors are acceptable with the exception of solid black, mouse, liver, black and tan, black and white, and white with black, which are disqualifications.
German Pinscher Height at withers: 17" to 20". ---- Solid colors - All solid colors from fawn (Isabella) to stag red; in various shades.

Bi-Colors - Black with reddish/tan markings. Blue with reddish/tan markings. Sharply marked red/tan markings are desirable.
German Shepherd Dog The desired height for males at the top of the highest point of the shoulder blade is 24 to 26 inches; and for bitches, 22 to 24 inches. ---- The German Shepherd Dog varies in color, and most colors are permissible. Strong rich colors are preferred.
German Shorthaired Pointer height of dogs, measured at the withers, 23 to 25 inches. Height of bitches, measured at the withers, 21 to 23 inches. Weight of dogs 55 to 70 pounds. Weight of bitches 45 to 60 pounds. The coat may be of solid liver or a combination of liver and white such as liver and white ticked, liver patched and white ticked, or liver roan.
German Wirehaired Pointer The height- of males should be from 24 to 26 inches at the withers. Bitches are smaller but not under 22 inches. ---- The coat is liver and white, usually either liver and white spotted, liver roan, liver and white spotted with ticking and roaning or solid liver.
Giant Schnauzer The height at the withers of the male is 25-1/2 to 27-1/2 inches, and of the female, 23-1/2 to 25-1/2 inches ---- Solid black or pepper and salt.
Golden Retriever Males 23-24 inches in height at withers; females 211/2-221/2 inches. Weight for dogs 65-75 pounds; bitches 55-65 pounds. Rich, lustrous golden of various shades.
Gordon Setter Shoulder height for males, 24 to 27 inches; females, 23 to 26 inches. Weight for males, 55 to 80 pounds; females, 45 to 70 pounds. Black with tan markings, either of rich chestnut or mahogany color.
Great Dane The male shall not be less than 30 inches at the shoulders, but it is preferable that he be 32 inches or more. The female shall not be less than 28 inches at the shoulders, but it is preferable that she be 30 inches or more ---- [Acceptable colors: Brindle, fawn, blue, black and Harlequin]
Great Pyrenees The height at the withers ranges from 27 inches to 32 inches for dogs and from 25 inches to 29 inches for bitches. A 27 inch dog weighs about 100 pounds and a 25 inch bitch weighs about 85 pounds. White or white with markings of gray, badger, reddish brown, or varying shades of tan.
Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Dogs 251/2 to 281/2 inches: Bitches - 231/2 to 27 inches. ---- tri-colored
Greyhound ---- Dogs, 65 to 70 pounds; bitches 60 to 65 pounds. Immaterial.
Harrier 19 to 21 inches for dogs and bitches   Any color, not regarded as very important.
Havanese The height ranges from 81/2 to 111/2 inches, the ideal being 9 to 101/2 inches. The weight ranges from 7 to 13 pounds, the ideal being 8 to 11 pounds. All colors, ranging from pure white to shades of cream, champagne, gold, black, blue, silver, chocolate or any combination of these colors including parti and tri. No preference is given to one color over another.
Ibizan Hound The height of dogs is 23-1/2 inches to 27-1/2 inches at the withers. Bitches are 22-1/2 to 26 inches at the withers. Average weight of dogs is 50 pounds; bitches, 45 pounds. White or red, (from light, yellowish-red called "lion" to deep red), solid or in any combination
Irish Red and White Setter Height is measured at the withers. The desirable height range for males is from 25-1/2to 27 inches. The red is a deep chestnut red, the darker the better.

Jack Russell Terrier Both sexes are properly balanced between 12" and 14" at the withers. The weight of a terrier in hard working condition is usually between 13 - 17 lbs. White, white with black or tan markings, or a combination of these, tri-color.

Karelian Bear Dog Desirable height, measured at the withers, ranges from 21-1/4 to 23-1/2 inches for males and 19-1/4 to 21-1/4 inches for females. ---- Black, usually with sharp-edged white patches or marks on the head, neck, chest, belly, and legs. Brownish-black, matte black, and shiny black are all acceptable.
Keeshond The ideal height of fully matured dogs when measured from top of withers to the ground is 18 inches for males and 17 inches for bitches ---- A dramatically marked dog, the Keeshond is a mixture of gray, black and cream.

The Lakeland Terrier comes in a variety of colors, all of which are equally acceptable. Solid colors include blue, black, liver, red, and wheaten. Samoyed Males-21 to 231/2 inches; females-19 to 21 inches at the withers   Samoyeds should be pure white, white and biscuit, cream, or all biscuit.
Schipperke The suggested height at the highest point of the withers is 11-13 inches for males and 10-12 inches for bitches. ---- The outercoat must be black.
Scottish Deerhound Dogs-From 30 to 32 inches. Height of Bitches-From 28 inches upwards. From 85 to 110 pounds in dogs, and from 75 to 95 pounds in bitches. is a matter of fancy, but the dark blue-gray is most preferred. Next come the darker and lighter grays or brindles, the darkest being generally preferred. Yellow and sandy red or red fawn, especially with black ears and muzzles, are equally high in estimation.
Scottish Terrier Height at withers for either sex should be about 10 inches. Generally, a well-balanced Scottish Terrier dog should weigh from 19 to 22 pounds and a bitch from 18 to 21 pounds. Black, wheaten or brindle of any color.
Sealyham Terrier At withers about 101/2 inches. 23-24 pounds for dogs; bitches slightly less. All white, or with lemon, tan or badger markings on head and ears.
Shetland Sheepdog The Shetland Sheepdog should stand between 13 and 16 inches at the shoulder. ---- Black, blue merle, and sable (ranging from golden through mahogany);
Shiba Inu Males 14-1/2 inches to 16-1/2 inches at withers. Females 13-1/2 inches to 15-1/2 inches. Average weight at preferred size is approximately 23 pounds for males, 17 pounds for females. [Red, Black, Sesame, Black with Tan]
Shih Tzu Ideally, height at withers is 9 to 101/2 inches; but, not less than 8 inches nor more than 11 inches. Ideally, weight of mature dogs, 9 to 16 pounds. All are permissible and to be considered equally.
Shiloh Shepherd desired height for males, at the top the highest point of the shoulder blade, can be no less than 28" with the ideal height of 30" or more preferred. For females, the desired height can be no less than 26" with the ideal height of 28" preferred. The minimum weight for dogs should not be less than 120 pounds at maturity (three years), with the ideal being 140 to 160 pounds. Minimal weight for bitches is 80 pounds at maturity and the ideal being 100 to 120 pounds. The Shiloh Shepherd comes in various colors. Shades of black with tan, golden tan, reddish tan, silver, and cream are as desirable as are various shades of richly pigmented golden, silver, red, dark brown, dark gray, or black sables. Also solid black or solid white is acceptable as long as the nose, eye rims, and lips are solid black.

Sloughi Height range, measured at the withers, for males is from 25 to 29 inches (66 to 72 cm.). Ideal size is 28 inches (70 cm.).
